Emmaus Trust, Adrenaline Jungle 2023

Archery

I really enjoyed the archery as I have never done it before.  It was much harder than I expected.  They make it look much simpler in movies.  We all enjoyed it and it was a great experience.

Axe throwing

8 residents went to Adrenaline Jungle to have a go at axe throwing.  They were shown by an instructor called Don how to hold and throw different types of axes and knifes.  (This would be handy in case of a zombie apocalypse).  This got quite competitive as confidence in the team grew.  At the end of the session we had a team competition.

Blindfold driving

This was my favourite activity.  We all had to work together in a team to direct each other around the course by using our own words.  We couldn’t use the words left or right.  This was a totally new experience for all of us.  Those who thought they wouldn’t be able to do it did really well.  I now have the confidence to start my driving lessons but without the blindfold this time.

We were given the opportunity to experience this adrenalin filled activities session thanks to your funding.  This enabled all the residents attending to gain a plethora of skills in which they can use in the future.
