Why? Unlike humans, butterflies drink through their ‘probiscus’ which acts like a long tongue. Their straw-like tongue can be curled and uncurled when they need to quench their thirst. When they have finished drinking, they curl their probiscus back up under their chin. Imagine only ever being able to drink your food through a straw!
